Mickey Rourke has signed on to star in WAR OF THE GODS opposite Henry Cavill and Freida Pinto, VARIETY reports.

Rourke will play the villain, King Hyperion, in the project being directed by Tarsem Singh. Shooting is expected to get underway in April.

Production credits will go to Gianni Nunnari of Hollywood Gang Productions, Mark Canton of Atmosphere Entertainment and Relativity Media's Ryan Kavanaugh. Nunnari and Canton previously partnered on 300.
