Ewan McGregor will take over the role Johnny Depp was set to play in Terry Gilliam's THE MAN WHO KILLED DON QUIXOTE, reports EMPIRE. Depp's character was a modern-day ad exec who teleports back to 17th century Spain where he partners with Don Quixote. Robert Duvall was previously announced as Jean Rochefort's replacement as Don Quixote. Gilliam's first attempt at making the film in 2000 was put on hold due to weather disasters and funding issues. However, Gilliam also added that his current budget is $20 million, which is $15 million less than he had in 2000.
