Man of Steel Flies in Villainess
Antje Traue (PANDORUM) has been tapped to play villainess Faora in MAN OF STEEL, reports Variety. She joins Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Michael Shannon (General Zod), Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent) and Diane Lane (Martha Kent).
Two Faoras have appeared in Superman lore. The first was a Kryptonian martial arts master who hates men. The second was an aide to Zod and was the basis of Ursa in the original SUPERMAN films. It is not known whom Traue will play.
Zack Snyder will direct. David S. Goyer wrote the script from a story he created with Christopher Nolan. Nolan is also the producer alongside Charles Roven, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. Legendary Pictures' Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are the exec producers.
Warner Bros. plans to put the film in theaters in Dec. 2012.
