Lenny Kravitz, Toby Jones Enlisted for Hunger Games
Lionsgate has hired Lenny Kravitz (PRECIOUS) and Toby Jones (FROST/NIXON) have joined the cast of THE HUNGER GAMES. ComingSoon.net reports that Kravitz will play Cinna, the fashion stylist for the Hunger Games opening ceremony. Deadline.com writes hat Jones' will play the host of the Games alongside Stanley Tucci's character.
Based on Suzanne Collins' novel, the story is set in a future where each district of a divided U.S. sends two young competitors into a death match, which is televised.
Cast members include Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne), Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh), Amandla Stenberg (Rue), Jack Quaid (Marvel), Leven Rambin (Glimmer), Willow Shields (Prim), Paula Malcomson (Mrs. Everdeen), Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket), Wes Bentley (Seneca Crane), Stanley Tucci (Caesar Flickerman) and Woody Harrelson (Haymitch Abernathy).
Gary Ross is the director. Billy Ray penned the script. Color Force's Nina Jacobson is the producer. THE HUNGER GAMES will arrive in theaters on March 23, 2012.
