Christopher Meloni, who recently left his starring role on LAW & ORDER: SVU, is in talks to join Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL, reports Vulture. Despite speculation that he might be playing Lex Luthor, the bald actor will be playing an unknown general in the film.

He would join Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are the studios. David Goyer wrote the screenplay, which was developed by him and producer Christopher Nolan. The producers also include Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Deborah Snyder. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are the exec producers.
