Mireille Enos (AMC's THE KILLING) has landed the lead female role in WORLD WAR Z, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Brad Pitt is set to star as a U.N. worker and Enos will play his character's wife and mother to his two children.

Based on Max Brooks' novel and adapted by J. Michael Straczynski and Matt Carnahan, the story is an oral history from various people who survived a zombie outbreak.

Marc Forster is the director and Pitt via Plan B is the producer.

Production is set to begin in June.
