Kevin Bacon (X-MEN: FIRST CLASS) is in talks to take the bad guy role in Universal's R.I.P.D., reports Variety. Ryan Reynolds plays a recently murdered cop who is recruited to serve in the Rest in Peace Department alongside a 100-year-old officer, played by Jeff Bridges. Bacon would play the man who murdered Renyolds' character.

Robert Schwentke (RED) is directing. Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi adapted Peter Lenkov comic into the script. Reynolds, Neil H. Moritz, Mike Richardson and Jonathon Komack Martin are the producers. Dark Horse Ent., Original Film and Dark Trick Films are the studios. Exec producers include David Dobkin, Keith Goldberg and Ori Marmur.
