Horrid Henry Fills Out Cast
HORRID HENRY: THE MOVIE has announced its cast, reports Variety. Joining Anjelica Huston will be Richard E. Grant (WITHNAIL AND I), Rebecca Front (PLANET 51), Parminder Nagra (E.R.), Noel Fielding (THE MIGHTY BOOSH), comedienne Jo Brand, Mathew Horne (GAVIN AND STACE) and Prunella Scales (FAWLTY TOWERS). Newcomer Theo Stevenson was cast as Horrid Henry. The story follows Horrid Henry's crusade against the oppression of adults.
Vertigo Films and Novel Ent. are producing the film based on the book series by Francesca Simon. Nick Moore (Wild Child) is directing from a script by Lucinda Whiteley, who is producing with Vertigo's Rupert Preston. Novel's Mike Watts, Vertigo's Allan Niblo, Prescience's Tim Smith and Paul Brett, and Aegis Film Fund's James Swarbrick are the exec producers. Prescience, Aegis and the U.K. Film Council are the financiers.
Protagonist Pictures is selling international rights to the 3-D flick at AFM. Vertigo holds the U.K. rights.
Production has started on the $9 million production with an eye on summer 2011 for release.
