Hopkins Gives Rites to Exorcism Tale
New Line has tapped Anthony Hopkins for THE RITE, based on Matt Baglio’s true-life book, THE RITE: THE MAKING OF A MODERN EXORCIST, reports Variety.
The story follows a San Jose priest who goes to Rome to train as an exorcist. He goes on to conduct over 80 exorcisms.
Colin O'Donoghue stars as the priest alongside Alice Braga, Ciaran Hinds and Toby Jones.
Mikael Hafstrom (1408) is the helmer. Michael Petroni penned the script. Contrafilm's Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson are the producers.
