Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh has been cast in HORRID HENRY: THE MOVIE, reports Variety.

Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh has been cast in HORRID HENRY: THE MOVIE, reports Variety. She joins Anjelica Huston (THE WITCHES), Richard E. Grant (WITHNAIL & I), Rebecca Front (THE THICK OF IT), Parminder Nagra (ER), Noel Fielding (THE MIGHTY BOOSH), Mathew Horne (GAVIN AND STACEY), Prunella Scales (FAWLTY TOWERS) and comedienne Jo Brand. Walsh will play Henry's cousin Prissy Polly.

Vertigo Films and Novel Entertainment are producing. Prescience, Aegis Film Fund and the U.K. Film Council are ponying up the $9 million budget.

Based on Francesca Simon's children's property, the story follows a precocious child's fight against the oppression of adults. Lucinda Whiteley adapted the script from which Nick Moore is directing.

Whiteley is the producer alongside Vertigo's Rupert Preston. Novel's Mike Watts, Vertigo's Allan Niblo and Prescience's Tim Smith and Paul Brett, and Aegis's James Swarbrick are the exec producers.
