Despite reports that TWILIGHT's Ashley Greene was in the front for the lead role, Dimension Films has announced that Emma Roberts (HOTEL FOR DOGS) will take the lead ingenue role in SCREAM 4, reports AceShowBiz.com. Roberts will play Jill, the cousin of Neve Campbell's Sidney. Roberts joins franchise stars Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

Lake Bell (IT'S COMPLICATED), Hayden Panettiere (HEROES) and Rory Culkin (TWELVE) are rumored to be in talks to join the cast as well. Bell would play a cop who knew Sidney while in high school. Panettiere would play Jill's nerdy film geek friend. Culkin would be one of Jill's potential love interests.

Wes Craven back in the director's chair working from a script from Kevin Williamson. Dimension has set April 15, 2011 for the film's release.
