Edward Norton is in talks to take the bad guy role in Universal's THE BOURNE LEGACY, reports Variety. He would be battling the skilled agent played by Jeremy Renner, as well as Rachel Weisz.

The BOURNE spinoff features a new assassin and his dealings with the Treadwell project during the time Jason Bourne is on the run.

Tony Gilroy has written the script and will direct. Frank Marshall, Ben Smith and Jeffrey Weiner are the producers.
