Diego Luna, best known for roles in Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN and Steven Spielberg's THE TERMINAL, is in discussions to board Sony and MRC's ELYSIUM, reports Variety. The sci-fi film is Neil Blomkamp's follow-up to his Oscar-nominated DISTRICT 9.

Luna would join Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley and Jodie Foster. He would play the best friend of Damon's character.

Bill Block and Simon Kinberg are the producers.

Filming will start this summer with March 1. 2013 set for the film's release.
