Danielle Harris, who starred in Halloween II, has been cast as Barbara in Night of the Living Dead: Origins, ShockTilYouDrop.com reports.

The 3D CGI film will be directed by Zebediah de Soto and produced by Simon West and Simon West Productions president Jib Polhemus. George A. Romero is not involved in this origin story for the franchise.

De Soto's script for the pic, which he co-wrote with David R. Schwartz, calls for an update of the tale by highlighting the characters' backstories. De Soto called it "an American-style anime."
