Russell Crowe is set to star in a big screen adaptation of the '80s TV series THE EQUALIZER, reports THE L.A. TIMES. The CBS series followed Robert McCall (Edward Woodward), a former secret agent who now tries to redeem the things he did in his past by helping the wronged.

Mace Neufeld (HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER), Alex Siskin and Escape Artists are producing. For years, the redux was in development at the Weinstein Company. No writer or director is attached to project yet.
