Action hero Chow Yun-fat is taking on a role in Jiang Wen's $18 million period comedy Western LET THE BULLETS FLY, Variety reports.

Emperor Motion Pictures, which is co-producing the film with Beijing Buyilehu Film and others, told Variety that Chow will co-star alongside Jiang (DEVILS ON THE DOORSTEP) and Mainland Chinese comedian Ge You.

The script went through nine rewrites and 10 different endings before it was finalized earlier this week. The film is scheduled to release in fall 2010.
