Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton has signed on to star in supernatural thriller THE AWAKENING, reports SCREEN DAILY. TV director Nick Murphy will make his feature debut for a script he co-wrote with Stephen Volk.

Taking place in post-World War I England, a skeptic investigates a haunting at a boarding school and has a supernatural encounter that shakes her beliefs.

Origin Pictures' David Thompson is producing. BBC Films. StudioCanal Features and Scottish Screen will fund the flick. BBC Films’ Joe Oppenheimer and StudioCanal’s Optimum Releasing Will Clarke and Jenny Borgars are the exec producers.

Production will start in June.
