Deadline.com reports that four actors have been cast in Martin Scorsese's adaptation of THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET.

Asa Butterfield (THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS) is cast as the title character. Chloe Moretz (KICK-ASS) will play the female lead Isabelle. Sacha Baron Cohen is in the role of a train station inspector and Sir Ben Kingsley takes the role of famed silent filmmaker George Melies.

Based on Brian Selznick's book, the 1930s story follows 12-year orphan who lives in a Paris train station.

Originally the film was set up at Warner Bros. with Blue Sky's Chris Wedge directing. When that version fell apart, WB put the film in turnaround where Graham King's GK Films picked up the rights. Now Sony will distribute the film.
