Berry, Weaving, Whishaw Join Cloud Atlas
The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Halle Berry, Ben Whishaw and Hugo Weaving have joined the cast of CLOUD ATLAS. Andy and Lana Wachowski and Tom Tykwer are writing and directing the adaptation of David Mitchell novel. They join Tom Hanks.
The epic tale tells six interconnected stories that take place from the 19th century to a distant post-apocalyptic future. Each actor will play multiple roles in each time period.
The Wachowskis are producing alongside Grant Hill and Stefan Arndt. Philip Lee is the exec producer.
Warner Bros. holds the U.S. rights with Focus International shopping it internationally. A Company will co-fund the film and handle distribution in Russia and Eastern Europe.
