Wes Bentley (AMERICAN BEAUTY) has joined the cast of Lionsgate's THE HUNGER GAMES, reports Variety. He will play Seneca Crane, the Head Gamemaker.

Based on Suzanne Collins' novel, the story is set in a future where each district of a divided U.S. sends two young competitors into a death match, which is televised.

Cast members include Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne), Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh), Amandla Stenberg (Rue), Jack Quaid (Marvel), Leven Rambin (Glimmer), Willow Shields (Prim), Paula Malcomson (Mrs. Everdeen) and Elizabeth Banks (Effie Trinket).

Gary Ross is the director. Billy Ray penned the script. Color Force's Nina Jacobson is the producer.
