Adam Beach (FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS) has joined DreamWorks Studios and Universal's COWBOYS AND ALIENS, reports VARIETY. He joins Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell and Paul Dano. Beach will play a half-Apache who is employed by Woodrow Dollarhyde (Ford).

The story follows a partnership between Apache Indians and Western settlers when an alien ship crashes by their town.

Jon Favreau (IRON MAN) is directing. Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof penned the screenplay. Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, Steven Spielberg, Platinum Studios CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Orci and Kurtzman are producing.

Production will start this summer. Studios will release the film on July 29, 2011.
