Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo are in negotiations to join the cast of 1000 A.E., which stars Will and Jaden Smith, reports Heat Vision. The story follows a father and son team that crash land on an inhospitable Earth after humans left a thousand years in the past. Kravitz would play the daughter/sister and Okonedo the wife/mother to the Smiths' characters.

M. Night Shyamalan is directing. Gary Whitta, Shyamalan and Stephen Gaghan wrote the script.

Production is set to start in early 2012. Columbia hopes to release the film in June 2013.
