Acclaim Ships Alias Game For PlayStation 2 and Xbox

Acclaim Ent. Inc. and Buena Vista Interactive they have shipped ALIAS for PlayStation2 and Xbox for a suggested retail price of $49.99. Based on ABC's hit television series, ALIAS is a third-person action adventure that allows players to step into the role of the series' lead character, Sydney Bristow (played by Jennifer Garner), an agent for the CIA. Developed by Acclaim Studios Cheltenham, ALIAS features the voices of the TV cast, an original story and script written by the series' writers and producers, a revolutionary in-game split-screen camera, state-of the-art spy gadgetry and the unique combination of action and stealth gameplay.

"All of the core elements that go into creating a highly immersive game exist within ABC's world of ALIAS and they have been authentically captured throughout this collaborative development process," said, Marc Metis, svp of brand management for Acclaim. "Working closely with the series' cast and writers, our studio was able to faithfully bring the series to life, resulting in a gaming experience that possesses true Hollywood production values and broad mass-market appeal."

In ALIAS, CIA agent Sydney Bristow must use her cunning, extensive knowledge of martial arts and array of high-tech gadgetry to accomplish dangerous missions throughout stunning locations that span the globe. The game features all of the key elements behind the series' success, including high-action combat, stealth missions and time-based objectives, espionage, intriguing plot twists and high-tech weaponry.

ALIAS was created by Abrams, who exec produces the series along with John Eisendrath, Ken Olin, Alex Kurtzman-Counter and Roberto Orci. The ABC series, which is filmed in Los Angeles and premiered on Sept. 30, 2001, is from Touchstone Television.
