Accel Transmatic Ltd. announced that Accel Animation Studios, a division of the company in India engaged in 3D animation content development and visual effects, has formed a strategic alliance with a Los Angles-based LongTale InterNational, to develop, co-produce and distribute animation movies for the global market.
The Trivandrum-based studio would produce 133 episodes of a series based on the THIRUKKURAL stories that LongTale would distribute to global audiences.
The strategic alliance also sees Accel Animation Studios providing digital re-mastering services for LongTale's Shockwave Collection of digital assets.
Accel will also jointly develop and co-produce an English-language animation feature film, CITYZENS, in association with Los Angeles-based Netrikan Ent. and with Omar Kaczmarczyk, md of LongTale, as exec producer.
Accel Animation Studios, set up in July 2006, has a portfolio of completed projects that include 40 minutes of visual effects with single character animation for an upcoming Hindi feature film, FRIENDS FOREVER. The studios is expanding its capabilities and infrastructure to include motion capture, a chromakey studio, video and audio recording, post-production, film scanning and recording to become an integrated service provider for the animation and gaming ndustries.
The company has recently set up a wholly owned subsidiary in California, Accel North America Inc., to enhance its marketing initiatives and to provide on site support to customers in the USA for its embedded software and animation divisions.
