Aardman, Lionsgate Sign Home Entertainment Deal for ‘Shaun the Sheep’

Aardman signs a deal with U.S. home entertainment partner Lionsgate for the entire ‘Shaun the Sheep’ catalogue, including seasons 1-5 and the new half hour special ‘The Farmer’s Llamas.’

BRISTOL, UK -- Following the success of Shaun the Sheep Movie earlier this year, Aardman has signed a deal with US home entertainment partner Lionsgate for the entire Shaun the Sheep catalogue (seasons 1-5 and the new half hour special The Farmer’s Llamas) for Home Entertainment. Shaun the Sheep Movie has topped $100 million at the global box office and achieved a near-perfect 99% score on Rotten Tomatoes.  The catalogue will start rolling out in all major entertainment retailers and online beginning February 23rd 2016.

In addition to this, fans in the United States will also be able to watch all episodes from seasons 1-5 on Turner owned channel Boomerang.

“We are so pleased to be joining forces with two such highly regarded media partners, both of whom are a perfect fit for our woolly little friend, “commented Alix Wiseman, Head of Sales and Acquisitions at Aardman.

These deals further consolidate Aardman’s ambition to build the Shaun the Sheep brand stateside following their recent announcement with Amazon Prime Video of the US launch of the new special Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas. This will complement their existing catalogue, as well as the new partnership with JLK Licensing, with whom they will build a long term licensing and merchandising program for the US Market for Shaun the Sheep.
