Aardman International has secured the worldwide TV, DVD and online rights to the award-winning PETER AND THE WOLF. The half-hour stop-motion animated film has already been licensed in several territories.
Produced by BreakThru Films, this latest film version of Prokofiev's classic work was first aired on Channel 4 last year. It was adapted and directed by the BAFTA-award-winning Suzie Templeton and set to a special new recording by the Philharmonia Orchestra.
This new film re-works Prokofiev's tale with some 21st century twists and an environmental theme whilst staying true to the original story.
PETER AND THE WOLF has recently been short listed for an Academy Award. It has also won the 2007 Annecy Cristal and the Annecy Audience Awards, as well as the Rose d'Or award at the 2007 Festival for Entertainment Television Programming. It was also the recipient of the 2007 Pulcinella award for the Best European Program of the Year at the recent Cartoons on the Bay International Festival of Television Animation in Salerno, Italy.
