9 Story Adds Two New Execs

Canadian-based production and animation studio 9 Story Ent. heads into 2008 with the addition of two new senior executives. Jill Fraser has been named VP, Business Affairs and Krista Barron, Manager Production Finance. The two will report directly to Steve Jarosz, VP and COO, 9 Story Ent.

As VP, Business Affairs, Fraser will be responsible for legal and business affairs matters for all areas of 9 Story's operations. Barron will be responsible for administration and certifications relating to tax credits, film agency and other domestic funding on all 9 Story productions.

Fraser brings 20 years of legal and business affairs experience in all aspects of live-action and animated film and television development, production, co-production, distribution, and merchandise licensing. She joins 9 Story from Duncan Morin LLP, a Toronto-based boutique entertainment law firm. Prior positions include a period as legal counsel for the Motion Picture Group of Alliance Atlantis Communications, and more than 11 years as VP, Business Affairs for Nelvana Limited. Fraser holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto and an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa.

Barron joins 9 Story from Ontario Media Development Corporation, where she served as Acting Business Officer for the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit. Prior to the OMDC, she spent a year at Telefilm as an Investment Analyst and seven years as Business Analyst at British Columbia Film in the Tax Credit Program, where she played a key role in the development of the program and subsequent changes to Tax Credit legislation, including the Digital Animation or Visual Effects (DAVE) Tax Credit. Barron also held administrative positions at Malofilm International, BBC Worldwide Americas, Telefilm Canada and Alliance Communications. She began her career as Assistant to the Sr. Partner at law firm Aiken, Capp.
