3Dconnexion Announces New 3DxLabs Web Site

3Dconnexion, a Logitech company, has launched 3DxLabs, a new online resource designed to bridge the gap between traditional product development and community-driven innovation.

Whether you're an early adopter, 3D enthusiast or design engineer, visitors to www.3dconnexion.com/labs have the opportunity to experience and evaluate new and emerging innovations, technologies and potential products in the developmental stage. In addition, 3DxLabs visitors are invited to share feedback with 3Dconnexion engineers and developers, helping to influence future product priorities.

One of the first applications available at 3DxLabs is a 3Dconnexion plug-in for Caligari, a subsidiary of Microsoft, trueSpace7.6, the free 3D modeling, rendering and animation software. 3Dconnexion 3D mice give design engineers, illustrators, architects, animators, and 3D enthusiasts using trueSpace7.6 a streamlined workflow by providing a compelling two-handed work style for more intuitive viewing and editing of 3D models and designs.

In addition, 3Dconnexion 3D mice integrate into trueSpace's collaborative environments for creating and sharing designs in real time, including transferring models to Microsoft Virtual Earth, helping to ensure a consistent 3D design interface and immersive design experience.

Unlike mice confined to motion on one flat plane, 3Dconnexion's 3D mice enable design engineers to move in all three dimensions simultaneously, with the ability to pan, zoom and rotate camera views without stopping to select commands. By gently lifting, pressing and turning the controller cap, graphic professionals can intuitively control their 3D design environment, with automatically synchronized camera positions for various view projections to minimize unnecessary camera movement.

3DxLabs software runs on multiple Operating Systems including Windows and Mac and works with the entire 3Dconnexion 3D mouse product line -- SpaceNavigator Personal Edition ($59), SpaceNavigator Standard Edition ($99), SpaceNavigator for Notebooks ($129), SpaceExplorer ($299), and SpacePilot ($399).

All 3D mice are available from professional CAD resellers and major online resellers including Amazon, Buy.com, CDW, Dell, and PC Mall. For a complete list of resellers or to buy directly, visit www.3Dconnexion.com.
