Animator 2009 offers film retrospectives of renowned animators, premieres, concerts, meetings with artists, exhibitions, performances, workshops and a range of special and thematic screenings, including screenings with live music, outdoor screenings, screenings for children and the open international competition for animated films up to 30 minutes with Grand Prix of 60,000 PLN/12,000 Euros. Special guests of ANIMATOR 2009 include:
This year's edition special guest will be Yoram Gross -- the father of the Israeli and Australian animated film. During the festival we will show a wide spectrum of works of this famous animator, including his intriguing experimental films and internationally renowned animations for children.
One of the most important stars of this year's festival will be Bill Plympton. At the festival we will present a full retrospective of his works, including: feature animated films THE TUNE, I MARRIED A STRANGE PERSON, MUTANT ALIENS, HAIR HIGH, as well as his latest animated shorts.
Animator 2009 will present the Polish premiere of Emily Hubley's feature film debut THE TOE TACTIC, a combination of animation and live-action sequences.
