The 24th annual Chicago International Childrens Film Festival is the only Academy-qualifying festival for childrens films in the world and the largest in North America. Categories include shorts, features, live-action, animation, television productions, documentaries and child-produced and youth-produced work.

Submissions must have a production date of 2007, 2006, or 2005. Be a part of the 10-day festival, also known as Cannes for Kids. The CICFF discovers the best in world cinema, featuring more than 200 films from 40 countries. With year-round programs, audiences of 30,000 and more than 100 directors in attendance, the CICFF redefines what a childrens festival can be.

Three adult juries and two childrens juries will judge films chosen for competition. The Montgomery Jury will award two cash prizes of $2500 each; a prize for the best film by an emerging director, and a prize for the best film produced by a child or a team of children. The CICFFs coveted BEST OF FEST prize is awarded on the basis of popular vote. The CICFFs coveted BEST OF FEST prize is awarded on the basis of popular vote.

The deadline for submission is May 1, 2007. For short films or videos under 60 minutes, the entry fee is $40, and $80 for feature-length films or videos longer than 60 minutes. There is no entry fee for submissions by filmmakers 6-13.
