2015 CG Student Awards Winners Announced

Winners of the 2015 Autodesk sponsored CG Student Awards are announced, with Gnomon School of Visual Effects named School of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Gnomon student Daniel Kho is named Student of the Year in VFX & Animation.

SYDNEY -- Winners of the 2015 Autodesk sponsored CG Student Awards, an annual event which showcases and rewards excellence in computer graphics, have been announced.

From over 1,000 entries worldwide, the judging panel -- including Academy Award winner Joe Letteri from Weta Digital -- has announced the category winners. The voting process involved judges scoring each entry based on criteria including: creative skills, technical skills, presentation, variety of skills, raw talent and future potential.

The winners share a prize pool of 25 internships from Weta Digital, Double Negative, Gameloft, The Mill, Animal Logic, Dreamworks India, Framestore, Method Studios, Monolith Studio, MPC, NetherRealm Studio, Ninja Theory, Rebellion and Rising Sun Pictures.

The $360,000 prize pool is split between the winners and contributed by Autodesk, Nvidia, Adobe, Wacom, Pixologic, Epic Games, Next Limit, Digital Tutors, Side Effects Software, Blue  Sky Studio, Luxion, CG Cookie, CG Society, Conceptshare, G-Technology, iKinema, RebusFarm, Siteground, SolidAngle, Stash Media, The Foundry, Tut+,  3D Artist, 3D Total, Allegorithmic and Animation World Network.
