2002 Engineering Emmy Awards For 2d3's Boujou And Apple's FinalCut Pro

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced that 2d3's automated motion tracker boujou has been awarded a Primetime Emmy Engineering Award. Cited for its revolutionary impact on the creation of complex visual effects, boujou has made a major contribution to high-profile television productions, music videos and commercials by facilitating the creation of visual effects combining live-action and 3D. DINOTOPIA, BAND OF BROTHERS, Jim Henson's JACK & THE BEANSTALK: THE REAL STORY and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER are among the productions to use boujou's matchmoving technology. Apple's popular Final Cut Pro editing system, Arriflex Cameras and TM Systems Digital Solution to Language Translation, Dubbing and Subtitling were the other 2002 Engineering Award recipients. The Academy presents Emmy statuettes for engineering to individuals, companies or other organizations that have created technical improvements or innovations so extensive that they affect the transmission, recording or reception of television. Recipients of this year's awards will pick up their honors at the Engineering and Interactive Television Awards ceremony on August 21, 2002 at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre.
