Call for Entries

ImagIna And FIFI Want Your Net Animation. ImagIna 2000 with FIFI (Festival International du Film de l'Internet) have opened their competition for animation created specifically for the Internet. The FIFI is the first festival dedicated to films made for the Web. As the major European meeting point for digital image professionals, ImagIna 2000 will provide a solid forum for launching this joint competition. The deadline for submissions is December 15, 1999 and all entries must be accessible through a URL only. The award will be presented during the ImagIna 2000 ceremony in Monaco (January 31 to February 2, 2000). Participation forms are available on the FIFI site at www.internet-film.org.

Stuttgart Calls For Entries. The 10th International Trickfilm Festival takes place in Stuttgart, Germany from March 16 - 21, 2000. The entry deadline is December 1, 1999. The International Competition will present the best animated productions from the past two years. More than 500 films will be screened at the festival. The Best of Animation includes a selection of the most interesting films in the history of artistic, animated film. Young Animation is a competition featuring animated films from schools and colleges. The festival will also present the International Panorama, Tricks for Kids, a retrospective of William Kentridge's work, as well as workshops and exhibitions. Tampere Calls For Entries. The Tampere 30th International Short Film Festival takes place in Tampere, Finland from March 8 - 12, 2000. Entry deadline is December 7, 1999. As the biggest short film event in Northern Europe, the Tampere Festival features 80 screenings, a film market, and seminars. A Shout Out, Films For The Sprockets Fest. The Toronto International Festival for Children is holding their third annual film festival for children's films. The submission deadline for entries is December 17, 1999. Targeted at children 4 to 14, Sprockets prides itself on giving children an opportunity to learn about different cultures around the world. The event runs from April 10-18, 2000 with two public weekends on the 8th and 9th and again on the 15th and 16th.
