Call for Entries

NPAR 2000 calls for entries. NPAR 2000 is the first international symposium dedicated to non-photorealistic animation and rendering, including cartoon animation systems and techniques. It takes place at the International Animated Film Festival of Annecy, France, July 5-9, 2000 in conjunction with ACM/SIGGRAPH and Eurographics. The symposium will bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry, showcase cutting-edge research in non-photorealistic animation and rendering systems and techniques, and present examples of these techniques in original computer-animated films. Papers, animated films, and student posters are requested from all researchers and practitioners connected to non-photorealistic animation and rendering. Art In Motion Calls For Entries. Art In Motion focuses on innovative content and diversity. The criteria for entry is time rather than medium based, and therefore video, film and digital projects, animations, Websites, CD-Roms etc. are all eligible. Hybrids are particularly welcome. The festival will take place on January 28, 2000 at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The deadline for entries is November 1, 1999. Toronto Digital Image Festival Calls For Entries. The Fifth Annual Toronto Digital Image Festival (TDIF) accepted computer animation and special effects entries until September 24, 1999. Narrative and experimental CGI entries are strongly encouraged. The festival takes place October 28, 1999 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Brussels Calls For Entries. The 19th Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film Festival takes place February 28-March, 11 2000. The deadlines for entries is November 1, 1999. Each year the Brussels Cartoon and Animated Film Festival programs the crème de la crème in international animation, and chooses its candidate for the Cartoon d'Or. MILIA d'Or 2000 Calls For Entries. MILIA 2000, the World's Interactive Content Marketplace, will take place February 14-18, 2000 in Cannes, France. The sixth edition of the MILIA d'Or Awards - The World's Interactive Content Awards will be sponsored for the second consecutive year by DVD FORUM, an international association dedicated to developing DVD formats and promoting its broad acceptance. Awards categories include interactive (games, family entertainment and learning), as well as Interactive TV, e-commerce and online entertainment. Two new DVD Awards will be awarded: a Grand Prize DVD-ROM and Grand Prize DVD-Video. All DVD's published before November 1999 are eligible. Entry deadline is November 26, 1999. Dancing Pixel Festival Calls For Entries. Animation Magazine and Brilliant Digital Entertainment, Inc., a producer of 3-D animated content on the Internet and a developer of animation tools and technology, have announced that they will co-host the Dancing Pixel Festival. Dancing Pixel will be the first all 3-D real-time animation festival on the Internet. Animators, both professionals and aspirants, are invited to submit their work for public viewing and judging on the festival site. Submissions will be taken from October 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999. Europacinema & TV Film Festival Calls For Entries. The 16th EuropaCinema & TV Film Festival takes place November 27-December 3, 1999 in Rome, Italy. MILIA Calls For Entries For New Talent Competition. MILIA 2000, the World's Interactive Content Marketplace, which takes place from February 14 - 18, 2000 in Cannes, France, is calling for entries for the MILIA New Talent Competition. Since its creation five years ago, the New Talent Competition has provided interactive entertainment and new media professionals with the opportunity of discovering students' fresh creative ideas, and offered a new forum for recruiting new talent. A jury composed of international experts will meet in Paris in December in order to select the 20 best interactive projects in any area of online or offline interactivity.
