"Closed." Courtesy of Rushes. Seeing Spots. Bristol, England-based Bolexbrothers has completed two stop-motion spots. In "Closed," made for Nestea Cool (bottled iced tea), a dehydrated snowman skeleton squeezes through the letter slot of a closed store and restores himself with iced tea. In "Glacier," also made for Nestea, the snowman finds himself in Alaska where his bubble gum popping causes an avalanche. The Britain-based Bolexbrothers are best known for the feature film The Secret Adventures Of Tom Thumb. . . .Alyson Hamilton of the UK-based Passion Pictures has directed the animation for "Jump Rope," a live-action/animated spot for Chiquita Bananas. In the spot, a Miss Chiquita banana label comes to life and sings about the nutritional value of bananas to a group of live-action girls playing jump rope. Kevin Smith directed the live-action for Backyard Productions in Los Angeles. . . West Hollywood-based Ring Of Fire has completed "Mice" for ad agency Foote Cone & Belding/Chicago and Kraft Foods. The spot follows two CGI created mice as they spy on Miss Lonely Hearts as she attempts to seduce her newest gentleman caller with Kraft's new Shredded Parmesan Cheese. But in the end, it's the mice that get the cheese. Ring of Fire Executive Producer John Myers and CGI Artist Robin Scher supervised the live-action which was shot by Director Graham Henman of HKM in Los Angeles. The mice were created by Ring of Fire CGI Artist Gonzalo Caulonga, CGI Artist Robin Scher, and CGI Assistant Artist Jason Lee using Alias/Wavefront's Maya software. . . . Will Vinton Studios has produced two 3 Musketeers candy bar spots for M&M/Mars Inc. The spots, "Trailer" and "Corruption," each with :15 and :30 versions, feature 3D stop-motion animation of the Three Musketeer characters scaling castle walls and fighting off evil guards. The spots were directed by Matthew Brunner, produced by Sara Mullock, and animated by Mike Johnson, Tony Merrithew, and Jean Poulot for agency Uniworld Group Inc.
