Martin Tremblay Named President, Warner Bros. Interactive Ent.

Martin Tremblay has been named President, Warner Bros. Interactive Ent., it was announced today by Kevin Tsujihara, President, Warner Bros. Home Ent. Group, to whom he will directly report.

In his new post, Tremblay will set the long-term direction of the studio’s worldwide interactive entertainment strategy. He will oversee publishing, marketing, sales and distribution, licensing and business development of the Studio’s interactive entertainment product. Tremblay will begin work at Warner Bros. in July 2008.

Grand Theft Auto IV To Break Records

When it is released on April 29, GRAND THEFT AUTO IV is set to sell some six million units worldwide in one week, per VARIETY.

That means $400 million in sales for publisher Take-Two Interactive, who is releasing the Rockstar Games title. Not only will that break the record Microsoft's HALO 3 set in 2007 with a one-week gross of $300 million, it could be the biggest debut ever for an entertainment product.

Video game publishers can accurately predict early game sales based on how many units retailers order.

French Network Joins In On YouTube Suing

France's largest private TV network, TF1, has filed a lawsuit against YouTube to the tune of 100 million Euros -- or around $158.3 million, according to VARIETY.

The suit was received by YouTube in California a few days ago, but will be judged in Paris before the Tribunal of First Instance, according to a YouTube spokesman quoted in French business daily LES ECHOS.

TF1 did not comment.
