Nightmare Before Christmas Set for Game Series in 2005

Buena Vista Interactive, a publishing label of Buena Vista Games Inc., will publish TIM BURTONS THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS: OOGIES REVENGE for the PlaySation2 and Xbox, to be released in October 2005 along with BVGs previously announced TIM BURTONS THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS: THE PUMPKIN KING title for Game Boy Advance. Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of videogames and developer of the console titles will publish the PlayStation 2 title in Europe in 2005.

Getaway Game Garners Sundance Spotlight

With the success of Sony Computer Entertainment Europes virtual acting work on the upcoming interactive THE GETAWAY: BLACK MONDAY, Sony Computer Entertainment America will present it at Sundance, reports HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The goal is to highlight the game's cinematic aspects and Hollywood ties.

The sequel game, which ships Jan. 25, 2005, recreates 25 square miles of London's "Congestion Zone" and uses live actors for the game's central characters, utilizing them throughout the $20 million project's 18-month development schedule, which is rare for games.

Square Enix Ships Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel

Square Enix Inc., the publisher of Square Enix interactive entertainment products in North America, will ship FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST AND THE BROKEN ANGEL to retailers in the U.S. on Jan. 18, 2005 for PlayStation2.

Based on the wildly popular anime and manga series in Japan, FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST has made its way to America, beginning with a TV series on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and a DVD release is set for 2005.

America Online's kids KOL service, in partnership with Animation Collective, has launched an original online comicbook series and game based on its PRINCESS NATASHA animated Webisode series. Each full-length comicbook, posted each week exclusively at AOL Keyword: Princess Natasha, will follow storylines from the first PRINCESS NATASHA season and the upcoming new season featuring 10 Webisodes. Tigar Hare Creates Cinematics for GoldenEye: Rogue Agent Game

Tigar Hare Studios has created nine minutes of cinematic animation for GOLDENEYE: ROGUE AGENT, developed by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation2, Nintendo, Xbox and GameCube platforms.

Tigar Hare also created a :60 3D-animated theatrical trailer for HALO 2, Microsoft Game Studios record-breaking game title developed exclusively for Xbox by Bungie Studios. In its first 24 hours, HALO 2 sold 2.4 million units, or $125 million worth in North America.

Her Interactive announced that the NANCY DREW game series, developed by Her Interactive and published by Her Interactive and DreamCatcher Games, is ranked the No. 1 PC Adventure franchise in unit sales, according to the NPD Group Inc.

Helping boost the NANCY DREW franchise into the No. 1 spot are two new titles, NANCY DREW: CURSE OF BLACKMOOR MANOR and NANCY DREW: THE SECRET OF SHADOW RANCH, which are ranked three and four respectively.

AOL Music has premiered the new video from Grammy Award-winning artists Destinys Child for their version of the holiday classic RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. The video transports the super group to the North Pole and animates them with the same stop-motion techniques used in Rankin & Bass RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER. Google to Allow GIF Ads

Uber search engine Google announced it would now allow eye-catching animated GIF banners throughout its AdSense network for publishers. The mega-site will continue to charge advertisers on a cost-per-performance basis. It was only earlier this year that Google began allowing static banner on its site. Google will limit the size of animated GIFs to 50 kilobytes. AdSense publishers need only opt-in to receive image ads.
