Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes Comes to the Rescue this September

D3Publisher announced that it will bring Imagi Studios’ new CG-animated movie, ASTRO BOY, to Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, and the PSP. Based on the upcoming feature film which itself is inspired by one of the most beloved characters of all time, ASTRO BOY: THE VIDEO GAME will allow players to become Astro Boy, a young boy robot with incredible powers. FUNimation to Stream Requiem for the Phantom

FUNimation Ent. is partnering with Japanese production company Media Factory for the U.S. digital distribution of the 26-episodes of REQUIEM FOR THE PHANTOM, which debuted on Japan's TV Tokyo network April 2nd and airs Thursdays at 2:15 am.

FUNimation has begun streaming the first four episodes. A new episode will debut each week as it airs in Japan. Each episode will be high-quality, free, with the original Japanese dialogue accompanied by professionally created English subtitles and will stream via www.funimation.com/video.

MCVUK.com is reporting that Lionsgate is moving into games, producing casual and mobile titles from its TV and film properties. The studio is seeking developer partners to turn films like CRANK, RAMBO and SAW into playable entertainment. These new initiatives would be separate from console licensing, which Lionsgate’s president of digital media Curt Marvis thinks the company's titles are less viable.

Gameloft Finds Sherlock Holmes Mobile Rights

Gameloft announced a worldwide licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Digital Distribution to develop, publish and distribute the mobile game for the Warner Bros. Pictures' and Village Roadshow Pictures' film SHERLOCK HOLMES, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Robert Downey, Jr. The game is scheduled for release prior to the U.S. theatrical release on Christmas Day 2009.
