Biography


W
alerian Borowczyk was born in Poland during the first half of the twentieth century. he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, then devoted himself to painting and lithography, including the creation of posters for the cinema. In 1959 he settled in Paris.

He has authored more than forty short films and over a dozen feature films. Marked by an intensely personal style, his films are distinguished as much for thier ideas as for thier form. Mr. Borowczyk has recieved an impressive number of awards from international festivals.

He is considered by the community of critics as a creator whose originality of thought, wit and vision place him in a class by himself.
