For the last month, I have been trying to organize my storyboard. I had started this story back in 1996, and since then, I had edited the storyboard numerous times. Some of these changes were scanned, some were shoved into the binder I used to store the boards, some were scotch taped together, in other words, it was quite a mess. I started scanning and trying to place the panels into scenes. Last weekend I got so confused I couldn't finish. None of the panels had any numerical sequence to them, and I'm sure I scanned some in a few years ago and now I can't find. Everything was so scattered and mis-labeled, it was overwhelming.
This past week I spread all the drawn storyboards on my family room floor, and got at least a clue on the ordering. While looking through them, I decided I needed more panels (OK, I'm a glutton for punishment), and quickly sketched about 20 new panels. Much of the original storyboard panels have been discarded, and have been replaced.
This morning has been spent editing panels I had scanned last weekend and somewhat organizing the panels already scanned. I created folders according to the scenes (not storyboard scenes, but what would be considered film scenes) and placed the unnumbered corresponding panels into it's folder. I'm going to spend the rest of the day (and probably tomorrow) creating a storyboard in Flash in hopes of finally getting them numbered.
Hopefully, I can render a Flash version of the storyboard, and use that as a foundation for the animatic.
