Create/Add layer's to .exr files in Fusion or Nuke?

I am using Nuke & Fusion for Compositing. I am aware that .exr's support multi-channel (i.e. multiple render passes) in one file. I've read that Adobe Photoshop & After Effects can work with (and export) .exr's in layered format with the use of the ProEXR plug-in (by fnorde).

My question is:
Being that Fusion & Nuke are node based, is there any way to create/add layers to an .exr file directly from Fusion or Nuke (without doing render passes from other software).

Thanks for any help I can get on this...
