Hey everyone i am new here at AWN. I of course joined to be surrounded (virtualy:D) by people with my same intrest of 2D and 3D animation. But my main reasoning to joining this commuity is answer the question above: "What are the footsteps to becoming a visual effects artist". (Now i know this is going big, really really big), but I want to be the visual effects artist
working on the next ground breaking movie, like the next Transformers. At this point you should know what i mean on were i want to be.
What programs should i get really familiar with? What college's should i be looking into and paying attention to (i am currently in High School). What classes can/should i take before considering/doing college. Anthing on Internships or volenteering can help.
What i have picked up and know:
- i should look into getting maya and/or 3ds max
- i check out the school list on another thread and i have my eye on a couple
- i should mabey be getting adobe's flash for 2d animation
- i am about to start a interactive media classs provided by m high school
- i currently have: Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Toon Boom
