Hi everyone. I had the pleasure of having a first hand introduction to this book at the last fmx. I thought then "Nice." And shelved it. I've since been reading sections and I'm happy that I've discovered it. I've been in the cg industry for over 10 years, so I'm not reading this to find out what color models there are, etc. That's great to have in there too, and I've been picking up some basics. But what I love is the history of people and how they fought with corporate take-overs, technical day-one obstacles and the burden of analog tradition with a combination of innovative investment and garage-mentality that now makes me teary-eyed when I scrub that radiosity bounce count up to 6.
So: suggested reading. No connections to Terrence Masson or amazon other than my respect. (Double-posted from cg-talk.)
