the way the arm curves suddenly flick back and forth between directions doesn't seem to read well as just bones, though it does seem to work as flesh and bones, after he walks out from behind the screen.

his arm bend is awkward. mainly because its bent shape contradicts the motion.

I have to agree and disagree. It works really well during the xray segment, but otherwise it does seem kind of weird during the real life walk cycle. Maybe add some frames to the real life cycle and add some more straight arm segments to it.
