Summer Work

Hello

Here are a few works (paintings and drawings) I have "played" with this summer.

Great fun. The key is to not are so much about the work that it becomes stiff.

The red broken shell was created with just a palette knife - my emotional response to the violence in Iraq.

Yes, there are some Ty B. Bears, too.

These were taken in Gallery by the Sea on Tybee Island in Georgia.

Thanks.

Very nice work... especially the red seashell.

I wish I were in the area to see them up close for myself... maybe we'll have to plan a trip to Savannah soon. Hope all's well with you. Your work looks great.

:)

Don't care for the red one...

the third one is your best, imho...nice color and volume!

Cheers!

Splatman :D

I'm GREEN w/ envy

Portland beaches don't have so many nice shells. At least not at the beaches I've been to. I remember St. Augustine, FLA had nice beaches with starfish and shells when I was a kid but I don't know about now.

I really like the first thumbnail second pic (the one to the right). I like the colors and it looks like it's still wet - just washed up on shore.

Ciao!

Boutros, you're in Portland? Where abouts?

Hey, Ender

First off, congrats on your internship at Vinton Studios.

I live a couple blocks south of Burnside, near 23rd St. So, I sometimes pass Vinton Studios on my way to or from Trader Joe's or Fred Meyer.

I'm sure your co-workers have already told all about the great places to eat, drink and be merry on 21st and 23rd but I have to recommend Swagats (Indian food) lunch buffet for $6.95 on 21st and Northrup. The best.

You're also fairly close to the rose garden near Washington Park. Head over there soon before all the roses dry up! :0

El cheapo movies (about $3.00) are at The Mission (1624 NW Glisan). A great theatre with beer on tap.

The 4th of July in PDX = reduced price beer and chips at Fred Meyer.:) Oh yeah, and the Blues Festival thing.

I think I covered the major things.

Welcome and I hope you're enjoying your time here in The Rose City.

Ciao!
