Who are the Joyces ? A gaudy bunch of idiots, who think only about having fun ! Or so think the Yuks, who delight in gloom, melancholy and all forms of pessimism.

The Yuks hate light, colour and music, hiding themselves away in a large, dark and damp tree stump. They are governed by the fearsome Queen Bakrakra and her nasty Premier, Krabo. Ardent upholders of a destructive technology, they rely on the inventions of their official engineer, Teknocratus.

Happy-go-lucky, the Joyces live in perfect harmony with nature in a colourful, flower-filled paradise under the wise authority of the Great Pyro, the Father of Aelia and Fulgor. They devote their time to music and searching for the pollen which feeds the Great Prism, their energy source.

Forced to share the same planet, these two worlds clash. The Yuks systematically wreak havoc on the flowers of the Joyce world, transforming them into firewood to feed the "hotsy totsy", the vital energy of their Troglodyte city.

With their joys, fears and pettiness, even if they are called Insektors... we are really in the human world ! The Yuks and Joyces squabble as the episodes go by...

Much to our delight ! In a string of spectacular pursuits and exploits, both underground and in the air, they engage in a harmless, yet fiercely fought battle of colours, which always ends well... although clearly not for everyone...
