The second annual 3D Entertainment Summit will be September 16-17, 2009 at the Universal City Hilton in Universal City, California.

The 2009 3D Entertainment Summit will accommodate more attendees as it moves to a larger space designated for keynotes and panel discussions, film presentations and larger exhibitor area. In addition, the two-day summit will include a state-of-the-art 3-D digital cinema system for special 3-D studio sneak previews and full feature presentations.

The 3D Entertainment Summit contains a mix of general sessions and panel sessions presented by a host of industry experts and executives. The highly interactive, discussion-driven environment will allow entertainment professionals to gain practical insight into 3-D technology, market size, adoption rates, creative and production strategies, talent and licensing issues gaining a better sense of how 3-D relates to their future.

The 2008 show featured more than more than 400 leading members of the 3-D industry ecosystem and press from U.S., Canada, France, United Kingdom and Japan, with presenters including keynotes from Jeffrey Katzenberg, Mark Zoradi, Eric Brevig and Charlotte Huggins, David Hill, James Cameron and Vince Pace as well as exclusive studio presentations and rare 3-D film sneak previews. This year's annual 3December event features an evening with Blur Studio: The Cinematic Pipeline for WARHAMMER ONLINE. Join Gnomon and Autodesk in welcoming an extraordinary line-up from Blur Studio for an informative evening presentation on the cinematics for the incredibly popular WARHAMMER ONLINE. Blur will discuss how they approached this cinematic compared to the first one they did for the same game two years earlier. How they used mental ray for their first large scale cinematic, as well as how they approached the very rough bullet points Mythic Entertainment wanted to show in the piece to go from script, storyboards, animatic to final renders. Chuck Wojtkiewicz Concept Art Supervisor Chuck will be talking about how he took the script and did all the storyboards. Sze Jones Character Modeling Supervisor Sze will do "a making of" her Dark Elf model. Jon Jordan Hair and Cloth Supervisor Jon will do a breakdown of how he deals with cloth and hair simulations, using a couple problem shots as examples. Kris Kaufman Lead Scene Assembler Kris will talk about the challenges of the two opening shots. How he dealt with the crowds and how he assembled, lit, rendered and composited everything. Brandon Riza Visual Effects Supervisor Brandon will explain how he supervised the massive amount of FX in Warhammer, how he automated some tasks so he could focus on the hero shots, and more.
