The DIY Convention will present an afternoon of panels, speeches and spotlighted discussions at the Belcourt Theatre, located at 2102 Belcourt Avenue. The event will be followed by a CLUB DIY after-party presentation of live music showcases at the nearby Easy's in the Village, located at 1910 Belcourt Avenue. Kicking off the DIY Convention in Nashville will be a keynote address by Wayne Rosso, president of Grokster, the popular P2P file-sharing service. Confirmed panelists include Derek Sivers, founder of CDBaby.com, the second largest online seller of independent music; popular songstress and Nashville Underground label owner Lari White; Al Schiltz, a partner in Consortium Management; Memphis International Records co-owner David Less; platinum-selling recording artist Lila McCann; Andy van Roon, president of Film Nashville; filmmakers Suzie and Stephen Lackey, creators of FANS AND FREAKS: THE CULTURE OF COMICS AND CONVENTION; Jack Marshall, the D.C. PHANTOM EDITOR of STAR WARS; Jennifer Andrews of the Nashville Mayor's Office on Film; authors Frankie Schelly, Carol Grace Anderson and Lisa Wysocky.
