Bradford Animation Festival (BAF) is the U.K.'s largest and longest-running animation festival. The event hosts master classes, seminars, extensive screening programs and special events. Highlights for 2004 include Spotlight On... Oscar-nominated director Paul Driessen who will give an exclusive screentalk interview and retrospective of his work. From traditional stop-motion to state-of-the-art special effects, the event profiles 3D animation in all its forms. From the 'traditional' puppet animation of Barry Purves, through the history of the U.K.'s best-loved stop-motion studio, Aardman Animations -- to the very specialized, triple-Oscar world of Randy Cook, director of animation for the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy. Guests will also include internationally-renowned director and multi-award winner Caroline Leaf, acerbic wit Phil Mulloy and acclaimed Polish animator and academic Piotr Dumala. Events to celebrate new talent in the industry include a Channel 4 /Skillset Skills Surgery providing feedback sessions from industry experts, the BBC Three Talent launch and a preview of the Channel 4/Animator in Residence scheme. Other special events include workshops on scriptwriting and creating a TV series and a 50th anniversary screening of ANIMAL FARM. The Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention features a large Exhibitor room with old and new comic books, toys, trading cards, DVDs, and many other collectables for sale. The convention is located at the Shrine Auditorium Expo Center. Show hours are 10:00 am-5:00 pm.

The convention also features an exhibit and sale on Filmation Animation cells from such series as HE-MAN, SHE-RA, BATMAN, SUPERMAN, STAR TREK, FAT ALBERT, and many more. The creators of Comedy Central animated series DRAWN TOGETHER premiere an episode at 2:00 pm. The School of Multimedia Systems (Faculty of Information Technology) will be showcasing final 3rd year work of the Bachelor of Multimedia Systems in an Exhibition that will be held in the Atrium and the Edge at Federation Square Melbourne.

The dates of the Exhibition are the 22nd and 23rd of November 2004. It will be held between the hours of 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and is open to the public.

The objective of the Exhibition is to showcase to the Public and Industry, Innovations and the high skill level of our final year students. More than 100 students will be demonstrating multimedia work in the fields of Game Development, 3D Animation, Flash Animation, Short Films, Website design, Interfaces and Programming.
