Cascade ACM SIGGRAPH, Oregon and Southwest Washington's local SIGGRAPH chapter are sponsoring 4th Generation Media presentation lead by Bruce Curling from Anark Corporation. Curling's presentation will cover the key concepts of 4th Generation Media as it impacts hardware penetration in the current high-tech market. ASIFA-Hollywood will examine the history of stop-motion animation at the American Film Institute in the Ted Ashley Screening Room on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 3 pm. From Jasper to Gumby, some obscure examples will include works from animators George Pal, Frank Tashlin, Charles Bowers, Lou Bunin, Ray Harryhausen, Art Clokey, John Burton and many others.
